Sunday Dinner

Here are some arrangements I made for dinner on Sunday... It was a belated birthday dinner for my friend Hilary...The big arrangement was for her to take home...Let me tell you the jasmine is so fragrant...I have tried to grow the pink one but I always end up forgetting to water it and it goes crispy from the wind out here in Fontana...The wind...Oh my what can I say about the wind...
So ever since I saw a post on Saipua's blog about a bagel and lox sandwich all I have been able to think about is recreating it...If you click on the link her sandwhich is in the second post...

So here is the yummy salad with feta...

Toasted bagels...

Olives and goat cheese balls with herbs de Provence...

And salmon with red onion, capers, and olive oil...

And some flowers of course!

Flower Preview

Here is a little preview of some of the flowers I bought this weekend...Isn't that turquoise vase gorgeous...My husband bought it for me for my birthday along with my fabulous evening at Magnolia
This picture is of my favorite ikebana scissors...The Spanish lavender is from my garden...I ADORE Spanish lavender...My husband planted it around the citrus trees a couple of years ago...I also have the fairy variety which is a pinky mauve lavender...It should be blooming in just a couple of days...The top picture has purple salvia from my garden too...Its soft and furry...I am also currently loving my new camera!

Flower District

So we woke up late yesterday....7:30am...really that's late if you are going to get flowers...really late.
But we went anyway arriving at 9:30am...my favorite places were already packed up and put away...but I bought some flowers anyway...I will show those later.

Here is the view of Wall Street from the rooftop parking.

Here is the view of the city from the roof...it was a very beautiful day and my house smells like jasmine vine now...so it turned out to be a fabulous trip!

Picnic in the Park with Aunt Julie

We were going to go to Luna Park a restaurant but a few things fell through...Its been incredibly beautiful here in California...

So as it turns out...We had a picnic instead...
Sophie wasn't really a fan of our lunch...She put a bunch of sausage and prosciutto in her mouth...chewed and chewed...until I told her she could spit it out in the trash...
This is where we dined....
Here is Sophie...Finally at the playground...
Here is my happy bunch...Julie is on Vacation to Mexico this Saturday...It has been wonderful to see her...She was my roommate a long time ago and she is currently residing out of state.Whenever we see or talk to each other its easy and like no time has passed...I will miss you Beck!

Cornmeal Shortbread Cookies

I was recently on PoppyTalk and they had a couple of lemony recipes and since I have lemons coming out my bottom I thought I would give these recipes a whirl.

They were really easy to make...the good thing too is there are no eggs...as you can see from the bottom picture you can have your little one lick the mixing blade...Sophie really liked that part as I am sure you can tell.

I really liked the texture of this cookie and it is not too sweet just the way I like it. Click Here for the link to the recipe for yourself!

Cahier

I am a doodler. I have tons of little journals, notebooks, and scads of paper filled with drawings and notes. I have a hard time committing to an actual drawing or painting. The above is my cahier

Here are some of my doodles for the future...as well as random notes and lists about things. I wish I was good at lists. If I made proper ones I would probably get more done... That is why I love Hula Seventy. Andrea is so fantastic about that.

So I have been experimenting by making my own little journal/notebooks lately. When I have more I show you them...but I was thinking about having a cahier exchange. What do you all think??? It could be fun...let me know!

More Flowers

Really I think this weekend I am going to create a reason to go to the flower market. I loved these flowers I made for a baby shower a couple of years ago... They are some of my favorites like yves piaget roses... weber tulips... ranuculus...sweet peas...and million star.Have you been to the Los Angeles Flower District?... if not you should go...They even sell passes to people without a resale number but I am not sure how many places will let you pre order without one.

Out of Nowhere

I had a panic attack yesterday. I hadn't had one in two years. I really freaked out because my children were with me. This picture describes perfectly how I was feeling...blurry...dizzy...heart racing...pressure on the chest...tingling sensations everywhere...and in general an oh no feeling...Yesterday was AWESOME!
The photo comes from OneCrazyBetty on Esty. She has lots of interesting little sculptures. The one above is called On the Verge of Insanity...definitely!
