So here is the aftermath of our tea set painting...

Luckily...i have plenty...here is my handy work...

Sophie's work was a little more raw...but hey she is ONLY three...now i have to bake these puppies and plan a mini tea party!

Self Portrait

I always wonder what you look like...so i would imagine you may wonder what i look like as well...

This photo shoot took place in my still in construction bathroom...

Of course my eyebrows are unplucked and it looks like i have a mustache...i dont though...

The very first photo shows lots of freckles...all the sun damage showing now from my twenties...i rarely spend time in direct sun now...

I kind of think these photos are funny because i had a hard time trying to capture myself in the mirror...

This one looks the most like me...

I think this is one of my favorites...

Cameo

My favorite hybrid echeveria is blooming right now...

My husband cut off the flower stalk...

And now im playing with it...this last photo is a reflection from a mirror on the kitchen table...thats my ceiling...hello up there!

Cooking

Once upon a time ago...i used to do a massive amount of cooking at the beginning of the week...

This made my life during the week much easier...then recently as my life has been a chaotic mess... i realized was not doing this anymore...so this week i committed to doing this style of cooking once more...i made a lot of things not pictured here...these were just the most delicious things i made that i had to eat once they were completed...

Add Image Now you know i had to eat the end of the tri tip roast on some bread soaked in juices...i had to...

I also had some questionable veggies in the fridge...brussel sprouts and carrots with onion and garlic chunks...pan roasted...turns out they were not so questionable...

Green bean salad...blanched green beans boiled potatoes red onion garbanzo beans all tossed in olive oil lemon juice a little rice wine vinegar and salt...i need to make sure there is always something hearty for the husband as he does not eat as he puts it flesh...so what have you been cooking?

Billie Holiday - they can't take that away from

Billie is always good on a Sunday too as that is what im listening to right now...this is my favorite song that she sang...i just LOVE it!

Sunday in the Garden

We planted our plants really late this year...time just seems to slip away so easily now...

So our tomatoes are almost there...im so excited...we have about 12 bushes...

Our eggplants, zucchini, and bell peppers are struggling...we need to put up a shade for them...

But the tomatoes are just gorgeous little green gems right now...actually i did steal a handful of ripe yellow mini cherries...they were delicious...one year... i might have already told you...i ate every sugar snap pea off of the vine every time i went into the garden...my husband was like...whats up with those peas...i see flowers but never any pods????

Thai basil...great with chilies chicken and cashews...

Sweet basil...i have some very small purple basil...the majority of my basil seedlings ate it or rather were eaten up by some greedy little bugs...next year im hoping things turn out a little better...but hey things are pretty good though!

Awesome...sometimes being a parent can make you insane...

Sketches

These little paintings come from an old sketch book...

It was given to me by someone i loved very much...

She is gone now...in the nether world i suppose...

I still dream of her...talk to her in my dreams...

Which makes me very happy...

But when i found this sketch book tonight...i felt very sad...

I am very glad to have known her...she was one cool lady...

She was my painting buddy among other things...

Hello if you are out there...i hope you are watching...

Good night too!

Dave Brubeck - Take Five

Yesterday i did A LOT of driving...dave makes the driving more pleasant...i have a different album than this but im sure this is a good one to have...dave is so cool...i think you should go get yourself some...

Wednesday

There were steamed fingerling potatoes and blanched green beans tossed in olive oil lemon and salt...served with homemade aioli...you take 1/4 cup fresh peeled garlic 1/4 tsp of salt 2tbsp of olive oil and blend in a blender until creamy...then you add one whole large egg and while you blend for two minutes you slowly add 3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp of it in a thin stream...and voila...aioli but im sure its not the kind the ladies and gentlemen of Provence make...it was pretty good though!

Radishes and salted chive butter for toasts...the chives are from my garden...i wish the radishes were too!

Of course there were lamb chops...sorry lambs...but maybe you should consider not being so yummy...

A causal table setting...

A succulent cutting centerpiece...i wish i had that lunch right now because it makes me hungry looking at it...i posted the dessert earlier...plum clafoutis or flaugnarde...the choice is yours...so enough about this lunch right?

Little Bites

Yesterday i had some friends over for lunch...one of the appetizers was dolled up ricotta cheese on toasts...
I love the milky flavor of it...some may find it bland(like my husband)...i drained it...added kosher salt...red chili flakes...fresh oregano...salt...pepper...and a little olive oil...it was and is pretty good...today i had a tomato sandwich with this spread...too too too hot to turn the oven on...its 103 degrees...

Summer

plums a delectable summer treat from christina's father...

were used to make this treat...

plum clafoutis...i guess its only a real clafoutis if its made with cherries...with other fruits its known as a flaugnarde but im not saying that because my french is BAD...i also added some homemade whipping cream to this dish...kids i really wasnt sure it was gonna happen because it was hotter than hades in the kitchen...but alas it came together...the almond extract made it have a cherry like flavor...i got the recipe here if you want to give it a whirl...oh and i think you should!
