About Today

It was busy...my daughter did things to the house... unpleasant things.....
I watched my husband play with his toys....he also helped me with tags...I'm officially a proper tagger or at least a better one...my brother was into tagging when he was a kid...they thought they were pretty bad...but really ridiculous...I grew up in an upper middle class community...I don't think there was really a bad part...nope not really...I digress

Here are new but old towels finally almost a year later...jeez...

My tools and tags because I was packing orders... also I forgot to make a really important phone call too!...and I need a bath and there is no real food...except for the ingredients for fleur de sel caramel candy...Ill tell you that story later...and taxes are due tomorrow...RAD!!! thank goodness for the e-file...until next time...whenever that is.

OOOPS I FORGOT!

Really I did not. I just had not had the time to sit down and write a proper blog about this. Last Week I was featured on my new friend Christina's blog. It was very exciting to meet someone artsy out here in the Inland Empire. If you live out here you know what I am talking about. She has a shop called PookyButt on Etsy and BigCartel. She makes beautiful things with paper.
Here is a fabulous Pond Lily above and beauteous Roses below. Wouldn't these be great table and garland decorations for your party or wedding...I think I want a small pond lily for my hair.

She made the duplex paper I used in my Valentine Pack! Its two sheets of crepe glued together!Anyway she has a really cool blog I go there all the time...so check out her blog Pookybutt.

It's Raining

This is what my section of sunny southern California looks like right now. YAY!...drink up little plants.

Saying Goodbye

There are four of us now. Eight years ago we bought a teeny tiny fixer upper built in 1928.
Its just a simple little house that still needs a lot of love. Its 895 square feet with 2 bedrooms...perfect for a single couple. The current reality is I must part with the office/studio.
It hurts not to have a whole room to place ones beloved works and tools...to have a living room just for living and entertaining. This year I must let the fantasy go...the children cannot live in our communal room forever and they have a lot of stuff even when one really tries to keep it to a minimum.

So I will not be so selfish and let my children have the largest room. I love them but it still hurts.

There is a Sea Monster in My Soup????

There's a Sea Monster in my Soup

Here are the Tillandsia I mentioned in a previous post. They are for sale in my Husband's Shop.

He let me style and photograph them for him...What do you think?

The middle picture will be available later today. I think the bulbous ones look like little sea monsters! I even put one of my special sea shells in each arrangement. I collected them when I used to body board in my twenties. I'd dig around the shore when I would come out to eat or put sunscreen on. I can honestly say I was always in a super happy place when I found each one of them and I have quite a few saved up. So hopefully they will bring some happiness to whomever purchases these fun Tillandariums!

Tales of a Sea Gypsy

I was recently at The Styles Files and there was a post about Sibella Court. She is a stylist from Australia. Her shop is called The Society Inc. . The website is beautiful. Check out her Themes section. Obviously my favorite was the Tales of a Sea Gypsy.

Cheese Toast

These babies were part of dinner the other night. This is the before picture. I forgot to photograph the after part because we ate them too quickly. Fat on Fat on bread with a homemade garlic salt paste mashed into the butter. Really its so wrong but so delicious.

A is for...

Air plants otherwise know as Tillandsia...coming to a certain someones etsy shop soon! They are so gorgeous...

Pretty Flowers

I wish I was here today. It was a wedding I did a couple of years ago. It was a carefree day. Even though its Friday there is lots of work to get done. It seems like when you work at home it never stops...ideas to write down...paper to cut...blocks to cut and finish drawing...iron dish towels for a print run...never mind the kids, cat, and husband...they are a totally separate issue!

Turquoise How Lovely You Are!

I think I found this image from one of my favorite blogs House Of Turquoise. The picture is from House Beautiful. Every time I see something like this I am so tempted to paint my living room turquoise...but then I think your kitchen is turquoise and someday soon your bathroom will be along those same lines...and Do I Really Want To Move All The Furniture Again???? So I will just admire this lovely scene.

Wanna See Something Cute?

Well that is if you like babies...Say hello to Jack! He is my best boy ever!!! By the way his 3 month birthday is tomorrow.

Happy New Year!

Well 2010 is finally here and I am still exhausted from Christmas.
Here I am with the snacks and cookies...and the most delicious coconut cake...I wish I still had some! We had a yummy dinner but I was too tired to photograph it. I made an apricot stuffed pork loin roast and yes it was delicious!

Here is the table...not too fancy

Here are the star garlands Sophie and I cut out from old anthropologie catalogues and Victorian trading company wrapping paper.

Here are some gifts wrapped in peach tissue paper, yarn and hand cut tags. All I can say is I will be glad when next Christmas comes around because it sure is hard to get things done while you are breast feeding a gajillion times a day!
