19th century man in Japan, a photo by chimurenga on Flickr.

I was recently looking at a lot of different sets of photos from 19th century japan when i came across this man. Its from chimurenga's flickr set. Anyway he is so super dreamy and handsome. He makes me want to write love stories about him.

  6. Are you sure you didn't find this in the
"How To Be A Japanese Hipster" manual? I think I saw him on the L Train.

This just goes to show you that while the West was all about starched collars and shiny brass buttons the Japanese had already evolved to textures and layering.

  7. One more thing. I'd recommend "Glimpses of Unfamiliar Japan" by Lafcadio Hearn published in 1894. A westerners observations--and celebrations--on the Japanese culture.
